Benjamin, een succesvolle jonge kunstenaar, is verbijsterd als hij in een tbs-kliniek belandt. Hij kan niet geloven dat hij schuldig is aan wat hem ten laste wordt gelegd – maar door te veel drank en medications kan hij zich van de bewuste avond niets meer herinneren.
Het leven als tbs’er is absurd en meedogenloos, en hoe hij zich ook probeert af te schermen, de confrontaties in de kliniek laten hem niet onberoerd. Langzamerhand krijgt Benjamin weer grip op zijn eigen werkelijkheid, en geschokt kijkt hij terug op de asociale narcist die hij was once in zijn vorige leven.
Stap voor stap wordt Benjamin weer mens en verandert hij in een guy die schijnbaar met beide benen stevig op de grond staat. Maar dan krijgt hij een short die zijn wereld wederom op zijn grondvesten laat schudden. Wat is nu eigenlijk de waarheid?
